
Fried Chicken (Pinoy-Style) with Gravy Recipe
Ingredients
- FOR THE FRIED CHICKEN:
- 3 pcs chicken drumsticks (or any chicken part of your choice)
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- ¼ cup garlic, minced
- 3 pcs calamansi, juiced
- Egg white from 1 egg
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- All-purpose flour, for coating
- Cooking oil, for deep-frying
- FOR THE GRAVY:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken stock
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
- FOR THE FRIED CHICKEN:
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except for the flour and oil. Marinate the chicken for 1 to 3 hours.
- Coat the marinated chicken with flour evenly.
- Heat cooking oil in a pan. Deep-fry the chicken until golden brown. Remove from heat then drain excess oil using wire rack or tissue paper.
- FOR THE GRAVY:
- Heat butter in a pan. Add all ingredients and mix well so that no lumps form. Cook until the gravy is thick enough. (If the gravy is too thick adjust it by adding a little amount of water).
