Fried Chicken (Pinoy-Style) with Gravy Recipe
 
Ingredients
  • FOR THE FRIED CHICKEN:
  • 3 pcs chicken drumsticks (or any chicken part of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • ¼ cup garlic, minced
  • 3 pcs calamansi, juiced
  • Egg white from 1 egg
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • All-purpose flour, for coating
  • Cooking oil, for deep-frying
  • FOR THE GRAVY:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. FOR THE FRIED CHICKEN:
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except for the flour and oil. Marinate the chicken for 1 to 3 hours.
  3. Coat the marinated chicken with flour evenly.
  4. Heat cooking oil in a pan. Deep-fry the chicken until golden brown. Remove from heat then drain excess oil using wire rack or tissue paper.
  5. FOR THE GRAVY:
  6. Heat butter in a pan. Add all ingredients and mix well so that no lumps form. Cook until the gravy is thick enough. (If the gravy is too thick adjust it by adding a little amount of water).
