How to Make Homemade Yakult Ice Cream Recipe

Summer has passed in the Philippines but that doesn’t mean that the weather is any less hot. And the weather isn’t going to get cooler anytime soon. Everyone is continuously looking for things to do to beat the heat and the best things to eat to cool down.

Because of the ongoing pandemic, not many people access to the beaches or pools, so chilled Filipino recipes and Filipino desserts recipes are experiencing an all-time high in popularity. Tubs of ice creams have become so sought after during these times and not many actually have the ability to afford them.

So why not just make your own ice cream at home? For this recipe, we’re going to make our own tup of homemade Yakult ice cream. That’s right. Making ice cream is actually a pretty simple process as long as you have the right ingredients and materials.

I used to be clueless about how to make ice creams. I thought the only way to get them is through buying a tup of ice cream at the store or wait for the ice cream vendor to pass by your house with the ice cream brand’s music blasting through the neighborhood.

Those were fund memories. I remember dashing through the house and begging my parents to buy me a cone of ice cream whenever I hear the music or bell of the ice cream vendor. Turns out, we can make right at home.

For this recipe, we need to invest in a mixer to achieve the texture of the ice cream that we want. I don’t recommend beating the ingredients by just using a whisk because it will take all day and I imagine your arms might just fall off from all the beating.

We’re only going to use three ingredients for this recipe. That’s right. We’re going to need condensed milk, Nestle cream (which should be chilled beforehand), and this commercial beverage called Yakulk.

Yakult ice cream isn’t a new thing on the internet but I wanted to share this recipe with you guys all the same. Especially since its a great way to beat the heat and even get some health benefits from the Yakult itself.

I’ve actually only been browsing through the internet looking for simple ice cream recipes and came across different ice cream flavors, each one more complicated than the other. I already know the formula to make ice cream at home but I needed some inspiration. Then I came across a headline that said Yakult ice cream and that’s it.

I didn’t even read the recipe. I know that we have a stock of Yakult here at home, why not use it to make ice cream? Yakult can be an acquired taste to some but it can be an enjoyable drink once you’re used to the taste.

Plus, it’s actually good for the gut because the drink has some probiotics. I remember as a kid, my parents always buy me Yakult whenever we come across it and encourage me to drink as much as I can to have a healthy stomach. Even my schoolmate’s parents do the same thing because it’s not uncommon to see my classmates having Yakult with their snacks during recess.

We also always seem to parrot what our parents say whenever we drink it. It seems like Yakult isn’t famous for how delicious it tastes but rather on the benefits it can bring to the drinker. Now as an adult, I’ve actually developed a liking to its flavor so I’m incorporating it in today’s dessert recipe.

Homemade Yakult ice cream is an easy recipe to follow. Just make sure to have the patience to properly mix all the ingredients all together. Investing in a mixer is quite important for recipes like this one. Once you’ve successfully mixed all the ingredients, take any kind of container, pour the mixture, and refrigerate it overnight.

The result is a refreshing, delicious, Yakult ice cream than can also provide you some health benefits.

I’ve listed down all the three ingredients down below as well as enumerate the instructions on how to make this homemade Yakult ice cream recipe. If you’re more of a visual learner, it’s not a problem. We’ve made a video for you with all the information you need to make this recipe and help beat the heat. Enjoy!
