

How to Make Leche Puto
Ingredients
- For the flan mixture:
- 1 can condensed milk 380g
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 tsp calamansi juice
- calamansi peels
- For the puto mixture:
- 2 cups flour
- 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 egg whites
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsps melted butter for greasing the molder cups
Instructions
- For the flan mixture:
- Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Set aside the egg whites for the puto mixture. If you want a guide on how to do this, go here:

- Put the separated egg yolks in a mixing bowl. Add some calamansi peels while beating the egg yolks- this will eliminate the stench from them.
- Remove the calamansi peels from the beaten egg yolks.
- Add the condensed milk and calamansi juice then stir until well-blended.
- Brush some melted butter in each molder cup.
- Pour some flan mixture at bottom part only of each molder cup.
- Arrange them in the steamer properly.
- Steam the flan for about 5 to 7 minutes. Turn off heat when cooked.
- While waiting for the flan to be cooked, prepare the
- puto
- mixture.
- For the puto mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, put the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix them well.
- Add the egg whites and water. Mix until well-blended.
- Pour the puto mixture in each of the molder cups with the cooked flan at the bottom.
- Steam again for 8 to 10 minutes or until the puto has risen.
- Turn off heat then transfer the leche puto to a tray or big plate. Let them cool down.
- Remove the leche puto from each molder cup.
- Serve and enjoy your
