How to Make Meatballs in Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • For the meatballs:
  • 250 gm ground pork or beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup carrots
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 tbsp ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • salt & pepper according to taste
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp banana catsup
  • 3 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch & 3 tbsp water mixed
  • 3/4 cup water
  • cooking oil for sautéing

Instructions
 

  • For the meatballs:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients. Mix until well-blended.
  • Form small balls from the mixture using your hands.
  • Brush some oil on a baking tray. Then arrange the meatballs on it.
  • Bake in a preheated oven or oven toaster (180c/350F) for 20 minutes. Set aside the meatballs when done.
  • For the sauce:
  • Heat some oil in a saucepan, then sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger.
  • Add water, catsup, and vinegar then mix well.
  • Adjust the heat to low, then add salt, pepper, and sugar.
  • Gradually add the cornstarch mixture while stirring.
  • Simmer for 1 minute then remove from heat.
  • Serving:
  • Combine the meatballs and sauce. Top with chopped green onions if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your
  • meatballs in sweet & sour sauce!
